Composite Fillings

Composite fillings are made of resin, which is a plastic material un in many dental procedures. Resin is also used in dental bonding, as it allows the bonding to match the existing tooth. This composite material is painted onto the tooth then bonded to harden with UV light.

Dr. Nation places all of her own fillings herself, rather than allowing a dental assistant to complete the procedure on her behalf.

Nightguards

Do you grind or clench your teeth at night? Not sure? Common symptoms are feelings of stiffness in the jaw after waking in the morning and sensitivity to cold drinks.

Grinding of the teeth is a medical condition known as bruxism. Bruxism will result in the wearing down of your natural tooth enamel over time. Those who grind their teeth experience up to 80 times more wear each day than those who do not.

Nightguards will reduce the risk of wear on your remaining health teeth. They are simply a clear, thin removable device, custom made to fit over your upper and lower teeth, to be worn while you sleep. Wearing nightguards will help reduce neck, head, jaw joint, and shoulder pain in addition to protecting your teeth from further wear due to grinding or clenching.

Partials & Dentures

Removable partial dentures are designed to meet the needs of the patient and can replace one or more missing teeth.

Dentures provide a cohesive look and provide a radiant smile. Dentures can enhance the look of your face since missing teeth can cause the face to appear sunken in. Getting dentures will give you your beautiful smile back and could give you a more youthful appearance.

Modern dentures are designed to be comfortable, as well as perform the functions of natural teeth. Dentures come with many benefits, such as improved chewing and speech.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a small titanium screw that acts as an artificial tooth root that is implanted surgically into the patient’s jawbone, acting as a dental prosthetic for missing or damaged teeth. The implant acts as a foundation for the placement of a final crown. Implants can also assist in preserving healthy adjacent teeth by eliminating the need to grind them down to support a bridge. Dental implants look, feel, and function just like natural teeth and allow you to eat and speak normally.

Crowns & Bridges

Crowns are used to restore strength, functionality, shape, and size to a tooth, and to improve its appearance. It is simply a tooth-shaped cap that fits over your entire tooth. Crowns may be needed to protect a tooth that has become weakened or cracked by holding it together and preventing it from breaking. They can be made from metal alloys, ceramics, porcelain, porcelain fused to metal, or composite resin. When a crown is made, the material is often colored to blend in with your existing teeth.

Bridges are dental prosthesis that bridge the gap in your mouth when teeth are missing. A dental bridge consists of a combination of crowns and artificial teeth. They can restore chewing function, improve your oral health, and enhance your appearance.

Veneers

Veneers are one of the most common cosmetic dentistry treatments. They are custom-made shells that fit over the front surfaces of your teeth. Veneers are a great way to conceal chips, stains, cracks, and other cosmetic imperfections.

Botulinum Toxin Treatment & Dermal Fillers

Botulinum Toxin Treatment can relax the muscles responsible for teeth grinding, which can reduce the frequency and intensity of clenching. This can help prevent further damage to teeth. It can also be used to reduce the appearance of signs of aging.

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected under the skin to create a smoother or fuller appearance. They’re also known as injectable implants, soft tissue fillers, lip and facial fillers, or wrinkle fillers.

Cleanings & Exams

Regular dental cleanings are crucial for maintaining optimal oral health and function. Dr. Nation and her team are dedicated to providing thorough cleanings that remove hardened plaque, tartar, and bacteria. Coupled with diligent brushing and flossing at home, our dental cleanings help you achieve and maintain healthy teeth and gums.

During your comprehensive dental exam, Dr. Nation will carefully examine the intricate areas between your teeth, searching for any warning signs of cavities such as enamel and dentin softening. Our dental exams also include checks for potential gum issues, such as swelling, redness, or sores. Additionally, our skilled professionals will measure the periodontal pockets, ensuring the proper attachment of the soft tissue to the teeth. Deeper periodontal pockets could indicate gum disease, also known as periodontitis.

To ensure your overall oral health, Dr. Nation will assess your bite alignment and examine your jawbones. By checking for any signs of jaw clenching or teeth grinding, we can help address potential issues and prevent unnecessary wear on your teeth.

Regular dental visits offer the advantage of early problem detection when treatment is typically more effective, simpler, and less costly. Furthermore, these visits play a vital role in preventing the development of potential issues. It is important to note that certain serious medical conditions can manifest symptoms in your mouth, often without your awareness. Additionally, dental problems can be symptom-free, particularly during the early stages. Experience the benefits of routine dental care and enjoy a healthy, confident smile.
